Profile

A four-time Emmy Award winner for her original Sesame Street films, Rachel Harms brings the same soulful, humanistic storytelling to her work as a commercial director. Whether the content is serious, quirky or whimsical, she finds the heart of the matter and delivers it to the screen, creating acclaimed campaigns for Wells Fargo, ExxonMobil, Tide, Johnson & Johnson, Nestle, Nivea and Quaker Oats among many others.

Rachel’s reputation for capturing authentic, emotionally touching vignettes and her extraordinary communication skills with adult and child actors have enhanced her international profile and placed her in demand for spot work worldwide. In addition to the US and Canada, she’s helmed numerous commercials in Russia, Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, China and the Middle East.

Rachel began her professional career as a choreographer and dancer, establishing own modern dance company after graduating with honors from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts Dance Program. The Rachel Harms Dance Company toured nationally, receiving awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, The New York State Council on the Arts, and many foundations. Rachel’s works have been commissioned and performed by ballet and modern dance companies across the United States.
